This guide explains how to configure Kandid.pro to match your working style — covering display preferences, notification controls, Resume templates, browser extension setup, and account management.

The Benefit: Why Configure Your Settings?

The right settings mean Kandi.pro adapts to you, rather than the other way around. A few minutes here will:

  • Remove Friction: Dates, times, and text sizes shown your way so the interface feels natural at a glance.
  • Protect Your Focus: Turn off email notifications you don't need and tune the ones you do, so your inbox only surfaces genuinely useful alerts.
  • Polish Your Documents: Upload a custom Resume template to ensure every generated document looks exactly like your existing branded style.
  • Streamline Job Capture: Set up your API key once and the browser extension can automatically populate applications as you browse job boards.

How to Access Settings

Click your profile avatar or initials in the bottom-left of any page or top-right on mobile devices, then select Settings from the menu. You can also navigate directly to /settings.

The Settings page is divided into tabs. Click any tab heading to jump to that section.


Display Preferences

Control how dates, times, and text appear throughout the application. Changes take effect immediately across all pages.

Timezone

Select your local timezone from the dropdown. This controls how all dates and times are displayed — calendar events, application deadlines, and notification schedules all use this setting.

Date Format

Choose how dates are presented throughout the interface:

Time Format

  • 12-hour — displays times as 1:30 PM
  • 24-hour — displays times as 13:30

Text Size

Adjusts the base font size across the application. Choose from Small, Medium (default), or Large to suit your screen and preference.

Default Currency

Sets the default currency used in salary fields across job applications and the application wizard. Select your preferred currency from the dropdown — for example, AUD — Australian Dollar (A$). The selected currency will be pre-filled whenever a salary field appears, saving you from selecting it manually each time.

Language

Sets the language used in AI-generated documents — your Resumes, cover letters, interview prep, and email drafts. This does not change the language of the Kandid.pro interface itself. Available options include British English (EN-GB), American English (EN-US), Australian English (EN-AU), French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi, and Korean.

Guided Tour

If you want a refresher on the platform, click Restart Guided Tour to replay the walkthrough that appeared when you first logged in.


Working Hours

Define your working week so Kandid.pro knows when you are available. This configuration drives two things: how the calendar and day views display your time, and when automatic focus time sessions are scheduled against your active goals.

Working Days

Toggle each day of the week on or off. Days marked active are treated as working days for scheduling purposes — the calendar highlights these days, and any focus sessions the system generates automatically for your goals will only be placed on active days. The default is Monday through Friday.

Day Start & End Time

Use the Start Time and End Time dropdowns to set the bounds of your working day (e.g., 09:00 to 17:00). The calendar day view focuses on this window, and automatically created focus sessions for your goals will fall within these hours.

Tip: Set your working hours to reflect when you actually want to job search, not necessarily your employment hours. If you prefer to work on applications in the evening, shift your window accordingly so focus sessions land at the right time.


Email Preferences

Control which email notifications Kandid.pro sends you. This tab is only shown if the platform's email system has been configured.

Master Switch

The Enable email notifications toggle at the top of the page controls all email from Kandid.pro. Turning this off suppresses every notification type below, regardless of individual settings. An Unsubscribe from All shortcut button is also available to disable every notification in one click, and a Resubscribe to All button restores them.

Summary & Digest

When Daily Digest is enabled, a Digest Time dropdown appears — select the hour you want the email to arrive (e.g., 07:00).

Send Test Email

Click Send Test Email to verify that email delivery is working for your account. A sample email will be sent to your registered address immediately.


Resume Template

Upload a custom DOCX file to give every AI-generated Resume your own branded look and feel — fonts, spacing, colours, and margins, all preserved from your existing template.

Uploading a Template

  1. Click Upload Template.
  2. Select a .docx file (maximum 5 MB).
  3. The system will extract and display the detected style information:
    • Heading font and size
    • Body font and size
    • Line spacing and paragraph spacing
    • Heading and body text colours (shown as colour swatches)
    • Page margins (top, bottom, left, right — in inches)

Review the extracted styles to confirm the correct settings were detected.

Activating Your Template

Toggle Use Custom Template to on. From this point, all generated Resumes will be formatted using the styles extracted from your uploaded file.

If the toggle is greyed out, you need to upload a template first.

Replacing or Removing a Template

  • Replace Template: Click the replace button and upload a new file. The previous template is discarded.
  • Delete Template: Click the delete button and confirm. This removes your template and reverts all future documents to the platform's default formatting (Calibri font, 1.15 line spacing, clean headers, standard bullet points).

Chrome / Edge Extension

Set up API keys for the Kandid.pro browser extension. The extension lets you capture job listings directly from job boards and automatically populate a new application in Kandid.pro, eliminating manual data entry.

Extension Setup Guide

The Setup Guide sub-tab provides step-by-step installation instructions for the Chrome or Edge browser extension, including where to enter your API key once installed. Managing API Keys

The Your API Keys sub-tab shows all keys you have generated.

Creating a New API Key

  1. Click + New API Key.
  2. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Work Laptop Chrome").
  3. The full key is displayed once only — copy it immediately and paste it into the extension settings.
  4. Once you close the confirmation dialogue, the key cannot be retrieved again. If lost, generate a new one.

Revoking a Key

Click Revoke next to any key to permanently invalidate it. This is useful if you change devices or believe a key has been compromised. Revoked keys cannot be reinstated — create a new key to re-enable the extension.

You can create multiple keys if you use the extension across different devices or browsers. Each key appears in the list with its name and creation date.


Subscription

View your current plan, track AI feature usage, and manage your subscription.

Current Plan

Displays your active tier (Free or Pro) and its status. Pro subscribers also see their next renewal date.

  • Free plan: Click Upgrade to Pro to access unlimited AI document generation and advanced features.
  • Pro plan: Use Manage Subscription to update payment details or change your plan via the billing portal. Use Cancel Subscription to end your Pro plan at the end of the current billing period.

Usage Statistics (Free Tier)

Free tier users can see a live breakdown of their AI feature usage against their monthly allowances — for example, how many AI-generated Resumes have been used versus the monthly limit. A progress bar for each feature shows how much of the allowance remains.

Pro Features

Pro subscribers see a summary of the unlimited features included in their plan.


Account

View a summary of your account data and, if needed, permanently delete your account.

Deleting Your Account

The Delete Account button is in the Danger Zone section at the bottom of the Account tab.

This action is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data — applications, documents, contacts, leads, goals, and settings — will be deleted immediately.

To delete your account:

  1. Click Delete Account.
  2. A confirmation dialogue appears. Enter your email address to confirm you understand the action is irreversible.
  3. Click Confirm Delete.

A goodbye email is sent to your address and your account is removed. You will be signed out automatically.
