Getting Started with Kandid.pro: The Right Way
Write it once. Reuse it forever.
Before you touch the AI tools — read this
It's tempting to sign up, paste a job ad, and hit "Generate Docs" straight away. Don't.
Your free account includes a limited number of AI runs before a subscription is needed — and every AI tool in Kandid.pro draws on one thing: your Career Profile. If your profile is thin, the AI has thin material to work with. You'll burn free runs producing documents that are generic, and you'll end up regenerating them later anyway.
Spend your free AI runs wisely. Here's the sequence that gets you the best results from day one.
Step 1 — Build your Career Profile first (the more detail, the better)
Your Career Profile is your single source of truth. Every tailored resume, cover letter, match score, interview answer, and outreach email is generated from it.
- Import what you already have. Upload your resume or import from LinkedIn to seed the profile automatically.
- Then go deeper — manually. Add every role, project, achievement, skill, tool, and certification you can think of, even ones you'd never put on a one-page resume. The AI selects what's relevant for each job; your job is to give it the full library to choose from.
- Quantify everything. "Led a team" is weak. "Led a team of 12 engineers, cut release time 40%" is what wins interviews — and what the AI can actually work with.
Rule of thumb: if it happened in your career and you're proud of it, it belongs in your profile.
Step 2 — Use the AI tools to enrich your profile, not just produce documents
Once the foundation is solid, this is where your first AI runs deliver lasting value. Use AI to polish and expand what's in your profile — for example, generating a strong LinkedIn-style summary from your experience. Improvements made here compound: they flow into every document you generate afterwards.
This is the core philosophy: Invest AI effort into your profile, and you get the benefit every time. Investing in a single document only pays off once.
Step 3 — Add jobs and check your match
Now start loading roles into your pipeline — paste the job description, or capture listings straight from LinkedIn and Seek with the browser extension.
Open the Matching tab for a job. You'll see your match score, skill coverage, matched activities, and — most importantly — what's missing.
Step 4 — Close the gaps in your profile (not in the document)
This is the loop that makes everything work. The Matching screen puts your results and your Career Profile editor side by side, so when you spot a missing skill or experience:
- Ask yourself: do I actually have this? (Usually you do — you just never wrote it down.)
- Add it to your Career Profile in the right-hand panel, with a real example or achievement behind it.
- Re-run matching and watch the gap close.
Because you fixed the gap in your profile rather than hand-editing one resume, every future application benefits automatically. That skill is now matched forever.
Step 5 — Now generate your documents
With your profile complete and your match score strong, hit Generate. Your tailored, ATS-optimised resume, cover letter, and interview Study Sheet are built on a profile that genuinely fits the role — first time, no regenerating, no wasted runs.
The workflow in one line
Profile → Enrich → Match → Close gaps in the profile → Generate.
Every gap you close and every detail you add is permanent. That's the JAM way: write it once, reuse it forever.
