User Guide: Job Application Management

This guide explains how to use Kandid.pro's Job Application Management (JAM) features to bring order, rhythm, and control to your job search.

The Benefit: Why Use JAM for Your Job Hunt?

Treating your job search like a professional campaign is one of the most effective ways to stay organised, manage your time, and ensure no opportunity falls through the cracks. JAM helps you:

  • Stay Organised: Keep all your applications, contacts, and appointments in one central place. No more juggling spreadsheets, notes, and calendar apps.
  • Track Everything: Never forget where you applied, who you spoke to, or when you need to follow up. JAM provides a clear, visual pipeline of all your opportunities.
  • Manage Relationships: A job search is about networking. JAM lets you track your interactions with recruiters, hiring managers, and other professional contacts, helping you build stronger relationships.
  • Never Miss a Deadline: By integrating applications with a unified calendar, you can easily track interview schedules, follow-up reminders, and application deadlines.

How to Use JAM

1. Tracking Your Job Applications

The "Applications" dashboard is the heart of JAM. It provides a Kanban-style view of your entire job search pipeline.

  • View Your Pipeline: Applications move through various stages, such as:
    • Draft
    • Applied
    • Interview
    • Offer / Rejected
  • Update Status: As you progress with an application, simply drag and drop it to the next stage in the pipeline to keep your board up to date.
  • Drill Down for Details: Click on any application card to see all associated information: the original job description, your generated documents, saved contacts, and upcoming events.

2. Managing Your Contacts

Build and maintain your professional network directly within Kandid.pro.

  • Add Contacts: Create new entries for every professional contact you make. You can include their name, title, company, email, and phone number.
  • Link Contacts to Applications: When you add a contact who is a recruiter or hiring manager for a specific role, link them directly to that job application. This keeps all relevant information together.
  • Log Activities: Keep notes on your interactions with each contact. Did you have a coffee meeting? An introductory phone call? Log it as an activity on their profile so you have a complete history of your relationship.

3. Using the Unified Calendar

The "Calendar" view gives you a complete picture of all your time-sensitive job search activities.

  • Automatic Event Creation: When an interview is scheduled for a job application, it will automatically appear on your calendar.
  • Create Custom Events: You can also add your own events:
    • Networking: Schedule time for networking events or informational interviews.
    • Follow-ups: Create a reminder to follow up with a recruiter a week after an interview.
    • Deadlines: Set a personal deadline to finish an application.
  • Link Events to Resources: When creating an event, you can link it directly to a specific job application or contact, creating a web of interconnected information.
