Not Every Job Search Is the Same
Someone firing off twenty applications a week needs a pipeline dashboard with conversion metrics. Someone returning from a career break needs a calm daily planner and gentler targets. Someone pivoting careers needs transferable skills front and centre. And someone chasing purpose-driven roles needs their networking pipeline, not their application volume.
My Focus lets you tell Kandid.pro what kind of search you are running, and the platform reshapes itself to match — dashboard layout, match scoring strategy, kanban card display, and daily momentum goals all update in one click.
Four Focus Modes
Each mode is designed around a real job search situation. Pick the one that fits and the platform reconfigures six categories of settings instantly.
Active Hunter
Move fast, land interviews. Built for high-volume applicants managing a busy interview pipeline. Your dashboard focuses on pipeline velocity, application flow charts, and frequency heatmaps. ATS scores and match scores appear on every kanban card. Full skills matching counts both required and preferred skills for stricter scoring, and your daily momentum target is set at 50 points.
Career Transition
Reframe your experience with confidence. Built for people moving into a new field where transferable skills matter most. Your dashboard centres on momentum, goals, and top companies. The Matching tab adds Core vs. Stretch Skills and Transferable Skills panels. Match scores count required skills only — more forgiving for career pivots — and your daily goal is a slightly gentler 40 points.
Return to Work
Small steps, big momentum. Built for people re-entering the workforce after a career break. Your dashboard starts with a calm Today planner and weekly summary. Kanban cards show only status, outcome, and progress — no clutter. Match scores focus on required skills only so career breaks don't penalise you, and a gentle 25-point daily goal makes progress feel achievable.
Ethical & Purpose-Driven
Find roles that align with your values. Built for people targeting mission-driven organisations, B Corps, charities, or social enterprises. Your dashboard is built around your lead pipeline, upcoming contacts, networking events, and stale lead reports. ATS scores stay visible on kanban cards, and full skills matching keeps your applications criteria-ready.
What Each Preset Configures
Selecting a focus mode reconfigures six categories of settings — far more than just rearranging tiles.
Dashboard Tabs
Two curated tabs — "My Workspace" and "Analytics & Funnel" — each populated with tiles chosen for your persona. Active Hunters get pipeline flow charts and heatmaps. Returners get a Today planner and weekly summary. Career Changers get momentum and goals. Purpose-Driven seekers get lead pipelines and contact management.
Matching Tab Panels
The Matching tab in Application Detail shows different panels per persona. Everyone gets Matching Profile and Job Insights. Career Transition adds Core vs. Stretch Skills and Transferable Skills — the two panels that help you reframe experience for a new field.
Kanban Card Info
What shows on your application cards in the Kanban view is tailored to your focus. Active Hunters see ATS Score, Match Score, Sub-Status, Outcome, and AI Progress. Returners see just Sub-Status, Outcome, and AI Progress — keeping things simple and calm.
Daily Momentum Goal
Your daily target adjusts to your pace. Active Hunters and Purpose-Driven seekers aim for 50 points. Career Changers get 40. Returners get the gentlest target at 25 points — progress that feels achievable, not overwhelming.
Match Score Strategy
Active Hunters and Purpose-Driven seekers use "Overall" scoring — counting both required and preferred skills for stricter matching. Career Changers and Returners use "Required Only" — a more forgiving approach that doesn't penalise you for missing preferred qualifications or career gaps.
AI Writing Tone
The AI writing assistant adapts its approach. Return to Work users get a career re-entry variant that reframes gaps positively and emphasises transferable experience. Every persona gets document generation that speaks to their situation.
Set It Once, Change It Any Time
My Focus is first set during the Welcome Wizard — the very first thing you do when you sign up. From that moment, your entire platform experience is tailored to your search.
Need to change? Go to Settings → My Focus at any time. A confirmation dialog explains exactly what will change before you apply. Your applications, documents, career profile, and contacts are never affected — only the dashboard layout, scoring strategy, card display, and daily goal update.
Switch as often as you like. Starting a career transition but later moving to active hunting? One click and your platform catches up.
